Description:
The Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage essential day-to-day financial functions, support the organization's accounting processes, and contribute to its overall and long-term financial health of the association. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting staff and with financial reporting and budgeting needs, in collaboration with third-party accounting firm.
Duties:
Collaborate and supplement the activities of third-party accounting firm through management of these weekly, monthly and annual tasks:
· Weekly Tasks:
o Record cash receipts and maintain accurate financial records.
o Fulfill clerk and payer roles in BILL.com.
o Monitor and manage the accounting email inbox.
o Process mail, make deposits, and handle filing responsibilities.
· Perform monthly reconciliations for accounts receivable, payroll, credit card liability, grant activity, and grant draws.
· Manage routine annual requirements, including business licenses, charitable solicitation renewals, and payroll updates.
Prepare annual organizational budget and other requested reports for TPA and subsidiaries for CEO to provide to association leadership
Respond to staff inquiries regarding financial questions and reporting needs.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, collaborate with third party audit firm to upload required files to auditor portal, and provide effective communication with auditors and accounting firm to address questions and provide necessary documentation.
Develop genuine relationships with TPA members to help advance the mission of TPA.
Qualifications:

Degree in finance or accounting or similar area of study. Preferred proficiency in accounting software, including Sage Intacct, BILL, and Expensify. Understanding of payroll/HR software, Gusto. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in normal office setting with focused office space with personal desk and computer. Typical full-time work week is 40 hours; the office is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Flexibility may be granted.

TPA staff are currently flexible working in the office and remotely. TPA’s full-time work schedule provides flexibility with 2 days/week required at the office, and work-for-your-day for 3 days/week. TPA staff members follow a core working schedule from 10:00 am CST to 3:00 pm CST.
Office equipment is provided for home and work offices. Position reports directly to the CEO of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.
