Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Training & Development Manager to join the our Vegetable Seeds Division (APV) in Parma, ID. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive training programs that ensure compliance with company's and regulatory standards while supporting safe and efficient operations across the site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) training, operational excellence, and organizational development, with a passion for creating a knowledgeable and highly skilled workforce.

 

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that meets operational and EHS needs for a high-performing, motivated, and safe workforce. Tailor training to specific site needs while adhering to company standards.
  • Deliver in-classroom training on life-critical site processes and policies as needed for departments or individuals, ensuring staff understand and comply with critical procedures.
  • Customize and deliver standard EHS training to the North American site, ensuring content meets the unique needs and requirements of the location.
  • Provide general oversight and coordination of RCMS (Risk & Compliance Management System) training performance and compliance, ensuring all training activities meet established safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with business unit EHS Managers and site leaders to develop safety programs and training initiatives that exceed EHS expectations and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify learning and development needs across individuals and teams, then design and execute training programs to address operational, technical, organizational, and leadership development needs.
  • Develop and implement a robust OJT program that fosters safety excellence and enhances understanding of processes, driving highly reliable operations.
  • Ensure that training related to site, process, and organizational changes is completed and recorded in accordance with Management of Change standards.
  • Measure the effectiveness of all training programs and make adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a system of routine checks to ensure that training records are properly maintained and that training practices are in compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed to ensure training and compliance processes are aligned with both company standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Skills Required

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering on-the-job training (OJT) programs and safety training.
  • Experience with 3rd party external auditing is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in EHS & process safety training development.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including influencing and building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results through others and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to assess training needs, develop training materials, and measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Strong passion for fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence through training.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the ability to use them to track and develop training programs.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong desire to build, grow, and develop operational capability through teaching, coaching, and team building.
  • A commitment to building a robust training program that supports a safe and compliant work environment.
  • A demonstrated track record for driving improvements in EHS, process safety, and organizational culture.

 

Education/Certification/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (e.g., Business, Operations, Safety, Human Resources, or a related discipline).
  • OR a high school diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training and development, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, or EHS-focused environment.

 

Pay Rate

  • $29 per hour and higher depending on experience and education/certifications
